Talon Book Review

Sooo I know I haven't done book reviews in, like a long time... But my Mom for whatever reason wanted me to review the whole bunch of books that we got from the library (like 10) so here's the first one.

Title: Talon
Author: Julie Kagawa
Summary:
Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George. Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.
My Review:
So first off, I have been meaning to read SOMETHING with dragons ever since I've been on Paperfury, so this was seriously overdue. I really really liked this book. The overall storyline and the characters were really good. Though there was a slight love-triangle. which usually I like, or at least tolerate, but I don't really think it worked in this case.
Caution Spoilers Ahead
One of the things I loved was the difference between Ember and Dante, with him having nothing to do with her rebelliousness. But this book was really predictable in the sense that as soon as Garrett was introduced I knew that him and Ember were going to fall in love and it would be the classic they can't love each other because they're enemies. But the thing I didn't predict was Riley. Just anything to do with him was a shock. His whole character was a shock.

My Rating: ★★★★☆⭒

All in all I thought this book was pretty darn great and I'm excited to see what comes next in the series.

Bye Sincerely
